Default Sunset after the fires.

This is what I saw when I got home from work yesturday. The smoke from the fires here in so. cal. cast this red glow. There is something wrong with the picture but I just could not put my finger on it. (okay besides the plane in the top right). I have done not post editing. Any thoughts on how I can make this shot better or should I just give up on this one and try another sunset.

The photo documents the smoke haze in the sky well. Other than having the sun so centrally located, the image is fine. Were you trying to manipulate it in some way to make the colors different? Can you change your shooting spot to have the sun setting behind the church steeple? Hope all is well at your location. I would imagine the air quality must be very bad and especially hard on those with breathing difficulties.

Thank you for your concern. Everything is fine now a few friends had the fire line come up to their property but nothing lost. Yes breathing is a little hard everything smells like smoke right now. For me to get the sun behind the steeple I would have to jump the fence, but what is a little trespassing to get that great shot, I'm sure the church would not mind.

i agree that the sun's position could be improved by relocating it to the left or right.....

i am also happy to hear that you and yours are well.....

thanks
