Default Urban Sunset

I went downtown to shoot today, and as light goes, I was a little late getting down there, but I came away with this, which I thought was an interesting sunset shot. Any comments or critiques welcome.

Hi Mike,
Composition is a little centralized. Whenever one noticeably chops off the base it takes away some of the impact of the shot. I say 'noticeably' because of the partial building and lamp post that is still visible in the shot. I realize there are times when you have no control of this.

Thanks lee. Yeah, i really wasn't sure how to go about this shot. I know it is directly in the center, which pretty much stomps on the rule of thirds. And as far as the base goes, thats about as good as it gets, from the vantage point i was at. Thanks for the comment.

How did you get the sky to have so much contrast? It looks awesome! I dig the silhouette too but I agree with that guys recommendations about the framing and the foreground.

the colors in this image are striking...and i especially like how the tree's silhouttte kisses into the darker part of the sky....i do agree that a different perspective would allow for a more interesting shot....if you are not opposed to post proccessing, cloning out the distractions of the bottom right would improve this image dramatically...

thanks for sharing...
