Pink Flower B&W Background

Using GIMP, I selected the background and made it black and white. Using the clone tool I touched up on some petals with little bits sticking out. I was wondering whether or not the color of the flower kept attention on the flower and whether or not the black and white really works for this photo. Maybe a tighter crop, though it might not work as a black and white then... Also is it easy to tell where I used the clone tool? Thanks for any feedback.

I loke the composition the way it is.

If there's anything wrong with the color it's that it's not bright enough. I just like it better when it's a really brilliant color.
