Default New Lens With Macro Setting

I recently got a new Nikon lens and have been having focus issues - on this I took my time and did a nice set up. What are some thoughts on how this came out?

Looks great, I think the bright white in the top corner is a little distracting?

It looks like you have the focus issues sorted out. Perhaps the lighting could be improved? I am working on building alight box as described in this DPS blog post for macro shots just like this.

I can only agree with the observations.
Nice to see though what the lens can do when correct focus is achieved. Details are really sharp.
Dunno if you really want a warm image or a neutral one. But maybe proper lighting will settle that.
