Not too sure what else to do here. I tried some closer cropping, not happy. So I left it as is with no other manipulation.

I think the image would work better if that out of focus leaf was out of the way. Hard to tell if you were able to get closer to the web but if you were I would have tried to hold the leaf out of the frame with one hand. The exposer looks very good and the background blur is great. I think that's the only thing that would be improved on the shot with out a total recomposition. Perhaps some cropping of the left side if you were able to get the leaf out of the frame would be nice.

Part of it may be rotating the camera, lots of people forget that cameras can take vertical pictures too. I don't think the negative space off to the left really adds anything to the composition.

I cannot find anything critical. I have tried all summer to get a great web shot to no avail so kudos to you! web shots are not easy! or if they are I just suck! hehehehe. but really, great job

I like it- however I agree that the composition is a bit off. maybe try moving angles ever so slighting so it is not centered might help cut down the dead space on the left. could you blur the leaves a little?

echo9er,

At the size posted X 400% on Yahoo, it looks as if the buds in front of the web are most in focus. At first look, I thought you might have dew on the web, but it just seems a bit blurred. Depending on the location, you can focus first on a printed card held next to the web, since focussing on webs is tough. Composition is covered above.
