Default Salt water fish

My first post. I am using a RebelXT with a 100 mm F/2.8 macro. Taking pictures of my aquarium has been an ordeal. Trying to get everything in focus, lighting etc. has been hard. Here is an example of my puffer fish.

You are right. It is hard to do. You seem to have got it good. I like the puffer fish.

drt205,

Face-only-a-mother-could-love aside, tight focus there, like a portrait focussed on facial features. Camera pressed to the glass? Other secrets for "How I took It?"

Looks a little like ET. Picture was taken with a tripod about 1 meter from the glass with flash. I am still trying to learn all the different aspects of both camera and lens. I tried to focus on the eye.

Here is another photo.

puffer almost looks like he is smiling for the camera! I like all the 'wrinkles' around his mouth as well, really cool! I would love to see the entire puffer focused tho.
the bottom one is very pretty! The colors are super wild and vivid. What does it look like when you photoshop it (and raise the contrast levels)?

great work!

wow ... I should have your patience and perseverance.
Taking macro shots of a moving subject with the lens (100 mm f2.8 macro) shallow depth of field is not only difficult but tricky as well.
Nice capture of the puffer.
