I can give you composition advice.. try not to put the tree in the dead centre of the frame.. put it into one of the thirds.. will give you photo more power...down the middle just really clashes

I think it clashes to. It might be better to move it to the right and crop some of the top out.

Second vote for using lower 2/3 and left 2/3, if you need to maintain this aspect. (You got the size thing worked out - Yea!)
