Default My first shot

Excited to finally have a digital camera I started out by taking this close up shot of a baby sunflower in my mom's garden. Out of all the pictures I've taken so far I think this one turned out the best. I'm amazed by this camera's image quality, but it has plenty of manual options I need to get used to (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc.).

I thought I would make this the first picture to share here and see what people have to say about it. I look forward to your comments

Well it certainly has great color.
I think you're not supposed to post shots this large here, especially since my browser isn't have a wonderful time loading the image, haha

What camera did you buy?

Oops, forgot to resize it. Sorry about that. Now how would I make it so people could view the original?

I used my CyberShot DSC-H2 - bargain find of the century at $87.49

Wonderful image. The only thing I would have changed about it is just general composition which could easily be done with software - but I would try to put it in the center more then already is. There is a lot of 'dead' space to left of the flower as opposed to the right side of it.

Other then that I like it a lot.

That, or create even more 'negative space' on a certain side. For instance, crop off all the space on the right (Maybe even cut halfway into the flower itself) and leave all the space on the left. Maybe even shoot it from an angle placing the flower in a corner facing a lot of space. There are seemingly endless possibilities with flowers!
Experimentation is the key. Have fun with that new deal-of-the-century-camera!
