Default When something is thrown at your head, what do you do?

Duck, of course!

So here is another duck. I shot this at the lake the other day, cropped to 8X10, adjusted White balance, darkened the exposure a little, kicked up the contrast and the presence a little. Adjustments were made in Lightroom. Brought the photo into Photoshop and dodged the white on the tail a little.

I was hoping the duck would turn his head toward me so I could get his eye, but no joy. This is the best he would do for me.

If you cropped a lot of background off, I might suggest going back to the original and take space off the bottom and leave more space towards the top and the left, as that is where the duck is swimming towards.
Maybe even flip the shot horizontally as my eye tends to be strained a little bit when moving from right to left (mostly because we read left to right).
Otherwise this is a great capture with nice exposure!

i agree. i like the exposure, but the duck is too centered in the picture (even though it's off to one side). either cropping more off the bottom or uncropping less of the top (if that's where you originally cropped) could make a nice improvement composition wise.
