Default Like Antenna to Heaven

These are the 1 and 4 Embarcadero buildings near the Pier in San Francisco. I'd done a similar composition about a year ago of these same buildings, but with little understanding of how to keep a photograph technically correct, I pretty much destroyed the photograph. So after a lot of learning and practice, I feel I've improved the shot quite a bit, while still keeping a surreal feeling. The first shot can be seen here: Old version

Any comments and critiques would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

Like Antenna to Heaven

ps. title is borrowed from the band Godspeed You! Black Emperor, very good progressive post rock music if you're interested.

I really like this and it's much improved I like the buildings coming in from the bottom corners ad aiming towards centre top - like stretching to infinity.

I don't know much about photography yet so I can't say much in terms of technical quality. But I will say that the shot looks great and is a great improvement over the last one for sure. Looks awesome.

What type of lens did you use for this shot? I have an XTi but only have the 18-55 kit lens so far.

Thanks for the kind words Sionara!
As for the lens, this was shot with my 'newer' Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM @10mm. It's obviously very wide, and it seems to produce some very cool images for me
This lens would fit your camera as well if you ever wanted to purchase one

Hi,

That's one of the best photos I've seen in a good while. Well done!

You should post that one up somewhere where you could sell prints. If you do, post up a note.

Cheers

D.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone thinks I should brighten up the building on the left at all? It is in a shadow, so it's more 'natural' this way, but I bracketed 3 exposures so I could bring it up a little if anyone thinks it would work. Also, is anyone is thrown off at all by the converging lines I'm getting due to shooting this at 10mm/the sheer height of the buildings? It sort of looks interesting and has a sort of feeling of stretching up, but maybe it just looks off?

Thanks again for the previous comments everyone!

definitely wasn't feeling the original, but this is a nice conversion.
