Default Stilted Wide Angle

I recently shot this with my beloved 10-22mm and I'm quite thrilled with the perspective I can get with it. There's is just something that is bothering me with the final results, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, as I'm lost, haha. Thanks in advance!

Stilted

Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
Shutter Speed: 1/500 second
F Number: F/5.6
Focal Length: 10 mm
ISO Speed: 100

That angle is stellar! You must love that lens! The black and white is perfect and the vertical lines really lead the eye upwards nicely. I love the sky! It completes the 'menacing' feel. About your comment re: something is bothering you...well the only thing that comes to mind is that you've set up some excellent symmetry, but it falls short on the far left and far right. On the left you have another building (?) rising up alongside your main subject. On the right you have a diagonal line (another building) intersecting your subject, along with some sunlight creeping in. While all these elements are fine as is and in my opinion aren't really distracting, perhaps you were going for perfect symmetry and that's why you aren't satisfied? Just thinking out loud.

Great capture and have fun with your wide lens!

Wow, I'm impressed.

There are two things that bother me. The first is that my eyes tend to focus solely on the upper section of the tower. It's too dark near the bottom to incourage my eyes to look downwards. The second is that when I force myself to look downwards my eyes get trapped by the light spot in the lower right hand corner.

Also, just a nitpick, but there's a bright spot in the clouds on the right hand side that seems blown out a little.

But really, those are all just nitpicks.

My oh y I don't know why you would be thinking something is wrong....This angle and the B&W along with the sky....I think its a brilliant shot and would do great blown up and framed. SOmething you would see hanging on the wall in a NYC architectural firm.
Great shot!

I think I now see something that bothers me....I would either take the left side and clone out the bit of building in the background or mirror image it...the entire shot is pretty much a symetrical shot except that bit....now I ust see it without and with.

This is a fantastic shot from a great angle. However, I see what you mean about something bothering you. I see some distortion on the edges of the building from shooting at a wide angle from this perspective. This is a quick fix in PS and makes a big difference. I wasn't sure if it was just my eyes, but I downloaded the pic and put a straight line on the two edges of the buildings and you can see how they bow out. Straighten this distortion and you have a real winner.

love the angle, building, sky, and processing. i guess you could argue to clone out the buildings on either side, but i dig it as is.

Frame it nicely take it to the company that owns that building and offer it to them and see if they bite...maybe they have a need for some art in their buildings. I know large companies pay big bucks for some crappy art in their lobbies. You never know.....
I love the shot though.....
