risk07.

What do you like most about it? Colors? Angle? Power of image? These are obviously presented here, but is it what you were going for? And how did you go for it: camera, settings, time of day, other options you might have taken but didn't . . . knowing more would mean that, if I said I would have gotten higher up to see more area of the rapids, or even lower to show the height of turbulence, or in a different framing position (foliage is weighted on right), then you would know something more than "nice shot." Which it is.

hi jiminy, i was actually going after it's power. your suggestion to go lower would have been a great one to show how high the rapids and will eventually shows that it's actually more powerful than this shot.

thanks for your suggestion. will try it on my next "raging river" pic.

eww, I loved it. How did you get that affect of the river rushing while the tree is clear and unmoving? I agree that maybe a little less sky would have made it better.

risk07,

Looking again after a few days, I trimmed (in my imagination) a little off top, bottom, and both sides. That got me closer to the river and removed most of the distractions I felt were there in the original. As always, it's for your eyes to decide.

(Is Sullivan's still selling foot-long hot dogs on the American side?)
