Default Abandoned Factory

Hi all fellow photographers!
I've started photography about a month ago, and I enjoy every minute of it.
I've learned a lot (but still not enough ) from this site, so I tought I will share one of my pic. The photo was shot at an old abandoned steel factory in Hungary, near the Austrian border. Since this is one of my first shot and I am very new to photography, I really welcome comments. I hope someone will like this photo.

You are off to a good star. I wanted to see more detail so I lightened the shadows on this picture 25% and this is what I ended up with: http://picasaweb.google.com/QueenSha...18449919068770
I can now enjoy the greens and gold of the grass in the forefront and the railroad tracks, along with the detail in the steel factory.

(Sorry about posting the link to the photo as I couldn't seem to get my picture to upload.

the second edit was a huge improvement...but, now it's lost a bit of contrast....see what you can do in levels.....

thanks for sharing....

Great shot, and i think the edit helps it alot. I'm partial to B&W, and I feel this one is given its due as a B&W photo. I really drawn to this photo. Two Thumbs up!

One thing I notice about the shot is that the horizon seems quite tilted. Sometimes this can be a dramatic effect but it often looks sloppy.

You can easily correct that by rotating the picture in post-processing but it is also worth considering the horizon (and other horizontal and vertical lines) when composing the original picture.

Thank you very much for your comments, I really appreciate it!
The B&W version is really really cool! I am thinking of going back there, but this time going a little closer.

I think all versions were worthy of posting but like wulf said straighten that horizon and it will be a bit cleaner of a shot...great shot and a great eye there dande. For only a month into photography you're doing pretty good!
