This shot, on Panama City Beach, is close to civil twilight. Fuji S2 Pro f8 60s
What I tried to bring out in this shot is the water (foreground) pooling..... www.digital-imaginations.com Last edited by Bob Rhea; 10-14-2007 at 10:59 PM. |

It would help to move the horizon off center. What is a civil sunset?

I had been shooting that afternoon with a D2X and as sunset approached changed to my Fuji S2 Pro. The photo was shot in manual with a 35-105mm AF lens, f/8, 1/60. Post processed with CS3.
Renamed to Civil Twilight.....meaning the sun is approx 6 degrees below the horizon.

Sailors and astronomers have different reasons to define the degree of orientation of the Sun to the horizon. See Wikipedia for more.
