Default Cinderella (window display)

10-10-07 Walk12 I am unsure about this shot, I took it because she fascinated my son but I think I could have caught a better point of view of her and her pumpkin. Maybe I will try again later and see if I can get a night shot or a better daylight shot where she doesn't look like she fades into the pumpkin so much. Any ideas to help with this? It was shot through the window, maybe I can see if the store owner will let me shoot a new one inside the window, I just don't know.

That's a tough one to solve as I can't even tell where the opening begins. The illumination seems to be even both inside and outside the pumpkin. Can you shoot from the side a bit more so as to lose the window on the left? CAn you yell us more about how the pumpkin is illuminated? How about taking a strong flashlight with you next time and pumping some light in on Cinderella?

Thanks Lee for answering. I thought the same thing as you about taking a strong flash light and seeing if I can get better spot lighting on her. They have it lit throughout with what appears to be a string (maybe several) of white Christmas lights. There is a bar through the window right next to where I was at but I may be able to get around that.

Good shooting, Val! I look forward to seeing the results with the flashlight. If you have an off-camera flash you can fire, try fabricating a "snoot" around the head to give you more of a spotlight effect.

Would be a nice shot but IMO I think the glass is gonna play havoc with your attempts.
A strong flash would just make it worse...you cant get close enough because you would lose most of the shot...

i think you had a great idea in your initial post.....coming back and shooting at night....you'll avoid all that blue and possibly get a better meter reading off your doll....

repost if you do!
