Default Little yellow flower in Irazu

I was on vacations and took this one a few days ago in the Irazu Volcano in Costa Rica, I think that it is far one of my best shots, let me know what do you think.

Flor Amarilla en Irazu

Thanks!

SmokedIronMade,

Months ago I would have been very happy to get a sharp colorful photo, which this is. Now, it seems to be a photo that could have been taken closer (you were in Macro), at f/2.8 instead of f/4.5 (might have given background less attention/focus), and in a more certain position. It's not quite centered, nor is it on any third intersection or line.

You did well, in that it is a good account of a bloom. There are several ways to make it more about the flower and less about the grass, including different views (sideways, from the underside, in an unexpected location). It's a good shot begging to be explored in new ways. That can be a lot of fun.

The smaller the flower, the better macro shot you can get.

I'd prefer a more up-close shot, like here or here

I like the composition in the second shot better. The blurred grass in the background makes this POP a little bit more. Nice shot of something most people would just pass up.
