chelle7575, Welcome
This thread has answers, hope it helps. You can't go wrong with Flickr, it just works so well with DPS. Posting Pictures from Photo Sharing Sites (A visual guide) Your photo has the sense of place we have spoken of in another thread. Could be many places around the world, it gives a chance to remember picnics, first cool weather, changes of life. Well done.

Hey chelle... like jC says above, flickR is the easiest posting method - check here for flickR instructions... I actually really like the colors in your shot, but, I can't see enough detail because of the size of the file I think... if you need any help with flickr upload / signup etc.. pm me. Then, when you're all hooked up... come and pot the medium flickr size of this shot back in this thread so we can get a good look at her.
Good to have you onboard... look forward to you re-posting the photo. Sime

I think that like Sime said, the colours in the shot are really nice. They're very autumnal. What the photo lacks in my mind is an area of focus. Everything is just there. If you were to get closer to the picnic table and have that in more of your shot it would anchor things more, so that your eye is drawn into the picture. Another suggestion might be to try a similar shot at a different time of day so that you get different lighting. The sky is very bright white, and I'm not sure if this is because of clouds or because it is blown out from it being too sunny compared to the rest of your shot. So, earlier in the day or later might make a difference... especially later as you can get that golden light that comes towards sunset.
So yep, like the colours, but for me (mind you I've been having a more minimalist trend in my photos lately), I think that it needs a better focus and different light. Keep posting.

Hi, Chelle, sorry we missed your shot. It happens sometimes.
This is a very pretty area for an autumn shot. I like all the vertical lines created by the trees. I think Nicole is right about getting different lighting at another time of day. Picture it with morning or evening light streaming through the trees illuminating the awesome colors that say autumn. Sometimes timing is everything. |

I can't see the large image on flickr as it's marked as private
. From what I can see in the smaller image, I really like the colors and autumn feeling you've captured. I would actually like to see this cropped to remove the foreground and maybe even the picnic table. I know it's a picnic area, but the way all the trees come together and appear to get more dense the further you go into the background is really interesting. The lack of undergrowth just adds to this, and it may make a really cool semi-abstract kind of shot.

When I look at my photos on flickr, under each one it says either "This phot is public" or "This photo is private" with a link beside saying "change". You can change permissions for each photo. I tried again and it still says your photos are private. If you want to make them public, just change the permission.
