Default Hikone: River

Set03Enhancer3from_P365 Jan 24 014.jpg

I took the picture using a tripod, three exposures on my Canon Powershot S3 IS combined into an HDR on Photomatix with default settings. Mostly automatic settings (P mode), but I manually calibrated the white balance before shooting. Afterward I cropped, performed a local contrast enhancement and general sharpening-up of the image. No levels adjustment (i rarely do for HDR images).

I thought I'd start posting my 'best' picture from a day's set just to see where I could improve since I'm an amateur still.

carlthuringer,

If you're an amateur, then I'm busted down to wannabe. If I could see a really large version of this, no doubt my appreciation would be even higher.

Carlthuringer, I love this image. Great colours and composition, the river draws the eye in and both river banks have lots of interest. The mountains in the background just add to the success of the image. Love it!
