The folded petals of the bloom are very beautiful. I found the DOF very shallow with the flower not in focus. I would also like to go for a tighter crop. The picture does not have any EXIF, so could not comment much.

Nice tonal range and pastel colors. Repositioning the 'bud' using the 'rule of thirds' may make for a stronger composition. Can you tell us a little more about the lighting contitions for this shot?

Thanks for the feedback. This photo was taken at sunset at the NJ Botanical Gardens, totally natural light. I was aiming for shallow DOF, but I think I went too far. I will re-compose and post...
