Default Nice Man - B&W portrait

Looking for some feedback on a B&W from the weekend...
(As always, don't hold back as I'm keen to get genuine feedback.)

Good shot, except tight crop on top.

Was this a posed shot? The reason I ask is that the subject looks awkward in the way he is hanging his sock on the line. The hole in the bush behind the subject tends to bled with his beard, making the face a bit hard to 'read.' He appears to be an interesting subject and would be great for some closer images.

Clockdoc - yep, it was 'semi posed'. He was hanging his washing and I stopped and asked if I could take a shot... he nodded, and then sort of fumbled what he was doing once he felt watched... hence the pose. Ironically the ones I took of him without him knowing wern't nearly as strong. Good feedback on the beard... might se what photoshpop can do.
