Default leaf

I always learn so much from the feedback I get here. Any thoughts on this photo? I'm just beginning to learn about photoshop--have I made the color look too unnatural?

Hi Annie,

I checked your Flickr photostream and saw the original colour. Here the leaf looks a bit excess green, specially at the veins. the leaf surface looks ok in my eyes. Did you use the levels? Have you increased the saturation of green? I think a little yellow tone on this will make it more natural.

I agree, the leaf looks great, but the veins are brighter than a neon sign. I've never seen a leaf with holes, do you know what kind of plant it is?

Really, really nice. I like the composition. The only thing I dislike, as has already been said, is the oversaturation of the veins.

I knew I'd learn something from posting here. In this case, you inspired me to play around with levels and curves, which had until now been a bit of a mystery to me (still are, but less intimidating now). Is this better?

I think I like the veins better now that they're less fluorescent, but the surface of the leaf might have been better in the first version. I can't tell--I've looked at it for too long

JamesC359, I'm not sure what kind of plant it is. There are a bunch of them at a park near where I live. I liked how they look but don't know anything about them.
