Default Sunrise at Shorncliffe Jetty

Got up early on Saturday morning to get the Shorncliffe for sunrise, here is one of the photos I managed to capture with 2 different finishes, I am looking for some feedback on what people think...

and same photo but with a levels vignette.

I think I might need to lighten the vignette slightly as looking the photo on my work monitor it appears rather dark. My home monitor is calibrated for colour but not for contrast/brightness unfortunately...

not sure on this one...I love the sunset but think ther is too much water below. The angle you tok it at is quite different but not sure if it works for me on a sunset....Maybe if a bit of the water was cropped out?
Love the colors.....did you take any in a more traditional way?

The colors and idea are great! The angle on the other hand throws me off. It makes me a little dizzy to see so many diagonal lines i think.

The reason I took the angle was cause I liked the way the sun was creating highlights to the bottom corner. Feel free to crop and repost here if you like, as I think if I tried to crop the water out I am going to shift the highlight angle from being in the corner, or without loosing the pylons.
btw pinball - its sunrise not sunset, though the colours do look more like something you would see in a sunset...
I will have to have a look through the photos at home, this is one that caught my eye and liked... but should definitely have some others there.

defaultlsettings - the chances are its your brain saying the horizon is not straight I have heard comments on similarly angled photos of others about how the water is pouring out of them cause the horizon is not straight

well I gave it a shot but cropping it lost a bit of the highlights like you said. When tried keeping highlights in the corner it looked a bit odd...too square. Wish Icould wake up to a sunrise like that.....

That might be a reason. Same concept as sea sickness.

All you have to do these days pinball is get up at 4am (in Aus at least...)

I do have a couple of shots on the horizontal, but did not have time last night to process them out, will see if I can squeeze in some time tonight.

i like that you have a different approach to perspective.....if i had my druthers between the two....i'd go for the vignetted version.....it helps to guide the eye.....

I prefer the version without the vignette, but I don't think the angle works for me. Nice detail in the water though! And great colors.
