Default Tennis Shot: First Impressions Welcome

Was playing tennis with a few co-workers and then couldn't help taking some pictures. This is a crop from a much larger picture but I wanted everyone's opinion on this. Just let lose. I want to see if I spotted a nice picture. First impressions is very welcomed thank you.

thats my first thought.....if the ball was more defined i think it would be a great shot but for all the viewer knows this guy just dropped the cueball. Not sure why its not coming out clearer than that and what are the chances you wont see the lines?
I like the shot though....I think if it were more obvious tennis it would have been better.

looks like you captured a shot thats puzzling us all. I really can't see how that would happen. I mean how fast do you really spn a ball as you toss it for the serve?

"quick hand luke" could do it... or, it wasn't a "tennis ball" as we know it... maybe?

Interesting shot! I agree that it doesn't look like a tennis ball. Shutter speed was 1/2000 so I would have expected a 'frozen' ball showing a bit of texture. Have you tried rotating it 90 degrees counter-clockwise so that it becomes a vertical throw as in a serve?

Default Soft Tennis

Sorry everyone. I am in Japan so everyone over here plays "Soft" tennis. Soft tennis differs from regular tennis in that it uses soft rubber balls instead of hard yellow balls. It is played primarily in Asia, especially in Japan ,Taiwan, and South Korea.

I actually do wish it was a normal tennis ball. But it is a much softer ball. Should have made this a quiz or something .

Thank you for the comments.

Management,

Concerning your crop: placing the subject higher in frame would give a better composition, allowing room for a sense of action and giving a pleasant triangular shape to photo center. Otherwise, well seen and shot.

Lee and Jiminy have picked up the two points I thought of - try it rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise and put a bit more space where the edge of the hand comes close to the frame.

Then give it a title like "Catch" (forgetting the tennis reference that seems to have a lot of people confused) and you would have a great photo. Well spotted as an option from the original.
