This is one of the local "without house" guys that I see around, and, as we were out shooting the Burma march yesterday, I saw him coming down the stairs of the Tate Britain... (he carries a nice burberry bag, is always smiley and chatty...)

Anyway - candid, how would you improve it? what would you do differently?

yeah, this is a quality capture. can i just say what this pic says to me. its a busy street, this guy just got a gut feeling that someone is watching him while going about his business then he turns ,as if he knows who exactly is watching him. even the look on his face to me says, i know you're watching me.
sorry, i know i can sound a bit whacko somedays, but thats what this picture envoked for me.

Sime,

If carl yeomans is "whacko," he's got company. Saw this earlier ("yellow teeth") and was struck by the intensity, emphasized by being framed in the crowd. One of your best ever.

jC.. I'm really really happy you like it, thank you.

Carl, this guy, even though he looks like he is as you describe him (I like your description better than actuality in this case) is a really smiley guy.. I'm trying to work up the courage to talk to him..

Sime (another whacko, I assure you...)

I saw this picture on your flickr first and I remember saying to myself that I would love to take a picture like this. It's really great. The framing is just wonderful and I love the light on the lower half of his face with his eyes in the shade.

I agree with the rest....a really good catch! I like the fact that the subject isn't in the forground. Carl said the same thing i thought. This photo does bring about a certain story.
Really nice Sime.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and this one back that up. Fantastic Shot. Makes me want to walk up and talk to him. I bet he has a story worth hearing.

I think this is fabulous. Some photos are just photos. Others speak to you. This is one of those. I don't know how you did that-I mean, you had what? Like a SECOND to focus him before he walked out of your line of sight? Incredible...
