Default First post - Monkey Meeting.

Hi There,

I just stumbled upon this forum from the Flickr site and this is my first post. This photo was taken at the zoo on my first outing with my new camera, the Canon 350D. I'm quite pleased with the shot, but would appreciate any suggestions to how I might have improved it.

Caged

Thanks in advance for any comments,
Daniel.

Welcome Daniel

In all honesty, I wouldn't change a thing. Technically, you may have been able to use a polarizing filter to get rid of some of the reflections in the glass, but it would depend how dark / bright it was where you were standing. Well done though

Shots like this in a controlled environment will always cause problems with one thing or another, but let's face it, without the glass this shot would not have happened. Also, the expression on the face in the reflection is great. I am sure a bit of tweaking would lessen any distractions but at the end of the day, not only is this a great family album shot but it is a classic "meet the ancestors" shot as well. Wish I had took it.

Thanks for the comments,

I was not sure about the reflections, I do like the reflections of the child, but did not like the one in the top right of the frame and over the monkeys nose. My photoshop skills are not yet good enough to remove them though.

Thanks again,
Daniel.
