Default Petals Swirl

Well, another attempt at a flower. I know they can get boring, but this one drew me in, and flowers make for great practice subjects. I take lots of these as a way to play in Manual mode with various settings. This was handheld:

EXIF: Nikon D40, ISO 200, 1/250, f/8.0, 55mm, No Flash

I think I forgot to save this in sRGB so you may see it a bit dull. Anything you do to your flower shots to make them stand out? Blur more the periphery?

Best,

Scampi

I cant find any fault with it.....I can see it as the background for a card or some poetry or something. Reminds me of hallmark stuff....
I really like the water droplets on the inner petals.....

I really liked your shot, the water doplets are a nice addition to the photo, i did see something similar once, it had more water droplet which reflected images in the background which was also quite interesting.

Beautiful colors and sharpness. Excellent subject, on roses though I really like to see the overall shape. Maybe if you coulld have pulled out just enough to see the outside petals and gone for strong bokeh. Not always possible and just my own prefrence. It makes me kind of nervous not to see the edges of my subjects.

The colors look great to me, a bit faded though it gives you the feeling that the flower is fragile. But if you really want to boost the colors open it in Photoshop, click cntrl or cmd A (depending if you're on windows or Mac) this will select all of your image then click cntrl or cmd c, this will copy your image on top of your original image giving you two layers of your photo boosting the colors.
