Default Croak

Frog

I came across this little guy while walking on a path through a wooded area near a new housing development.
All C & C welcome.

Sharp where it needs to be. I don't mind the shallow depth of field. I like the cross lighting. What was your light source? Nice work.

The light source was actually the sun, starting to lower in the sky. I think it may have been filtered some by the nearby trees, so it was more like little rays of sun.

I was actually rather impressed that he sat still for my entire little "photo op", allowing me to get quite close.

I actually like the shallow DOF giving focus just to the face of the frog....If it werent looking directly into the camera i think it might have posed a bit more of a problem but since the frog is staring you down the face is all that needs to be sharp.
Great shot! I need to get out and take some pics....

I like this shot. The focus is right on the eyes which works really well and I like the DOF. The lighting is great too. Well done.

Very nice shot, I love the shallow DOF. Great detail in the eyes as well. How close were you to the frog? The EXIF shows this was shot at an aperture of 5.6, but this looks shallow even for that. Nice capture!

I actually got pretty close. He wasn't moving so I got right down in front of him. My first few shots were a little further back, but since he didn't move, I kept getting closer until I filled a good portion of the frame. (I'm sure it looked pretty silly to passersby -but I got a shot I like)
