Default Does this work

I thought because of the clouds and the lighting in this photo it might be better as a black and white. Do you think this works. The original is on my flickr site if you want to compare.

I like it. Nice contrast, nice lighting of the left face. It almost looks like you used a fill flash ... but that would be one powerful flash unit! Perhaps a bit too much glare on the ice face in the right center face, but I still like it a lot. I love the clouds.Good job!

If you go to the flickr site you can compare it to the original. I have cropped it and converted it to black and white

The colored version is great as well, but I prefer the black and white...more dramatic and the contrast really pops! Very nice photo.

More than anything, I love the contrast. This photo also looks very creamy. Like a painting. You know how some artists paint thicker than others and you can feel the image when you run your fingertips over it? That's how this photo looks.
Hopefully I explained that correctly!

Default Nice contrast - Blue layer works

I really like the contrast and I think the B&W pic pops really good due to the Blue-ness of your color pic. I think if you adjust the Blue layer then your color shot would improve a bit as far as range of colors. Both are really nice.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Sometimes I wonder if what I see is real or just in my head, LOL, getting it to the camera is difficult. I know thats a poor explanation. Hopefully you get what I am trying to say. I guess it is because I don't have a lot of experience yet (I am definitely working on that problem). The blues you see in the original are very close to how the scene looked. There was a ugly mountain storm moving in very quickly which created a very dramatic sky.

Thanks Again
