i'm no photography expert or master but i have a couple of comments about your photo (if you don't mind).

i'm a bit uncomfortable with the amount of space eaten up by your foreground - composed of the tree and the flower bed beside it. i feel like it's covered too much of the scene. plus, the drooping branches and leaves also (sadly) adds to the "eaten up" space.

the right-most tree-trunk, i feel, could've been cropped out of the shot to allow more of the man-made lake (and, maybe, other boaters on it) to be seen. it adds just a bit too much shadow to the shot. the tree on its left would've been enough, considering you can see its texture.

nothing personal here, bro.

Now I am just the opposite. I like the trees and the flowers.(Maybe crop out the very far left tree) But definalty leave in the flowers and the one tree. It adds a nice frame to the picture. What i am not fond of is the overstauration of the colors and the blown out sky

What were you focusing on in this image? I think the image compostion is good the colors are ok perhaps a tad over saturated. It has an orton kind of feel to it which I think is sweet. I would have liked to see next time this shot done on a tripod with a smaller apature , read up on hyperbola of focusing I believe that's what it's called. You would have a striking image if you get the forground and background both in focus. The out of focus forground distracts to much from the image.

Perhaps some focus stacking would be in order for an image like this. Sometimes you can only work with what you have I know it's a pain lugging a tripod everywhere but it really opens up the posabilites for creativity. If you didn't have a tripod I think I would have gotten down on my knees and placed the camera over that forground object so its no longer in the frame or perhaps go to the other side of the hedge and get down on the floor point up torwards what appears to be a willow like tree while still keeping the people in the boat in the background.

Just some thoughts.

@WhiteMug - Maybe you're right, I've placed too much foreground..hmmm..I'll consider that on my next shots. I was just practicing what was thought from the articles here such as putting foreground, framing the picture, composition, and finally, rules of third.

@Windrider86 - I agree with you too..this is actually one of the first shots I enhanced using photoshop. I prolly got crazy with the colors resulting to an oversaturated color. Hhehehe..I'll Keep that in mind. Thanks a lot

@Murtasma - I was actually focusing on the boat, and you are right that the aperture was not small enough to focus everything. This is what actually happened during that shot: I have my cam with me (400D with a 50mm lens, no zoom) while walking on the park, the problem is, I left my tripod because it was raining that day. So I was really concern on preventing my cam in getting wet..I forgot all about using a smaller depth focus everything..but next time...I'll definitely will...also use the tripod..many thanks!

Do you guys have any suggestion when is enough in saturation? Obviously, I got a lot goin on here..
