Question Battle Tank

I was out late last night taking a few photos. This is probably the best one of the night.

It's an old retired battle tank (M60 Patton I believe) that sits in a park that's dedicated to the Veterans of our area.

I think the shot itself is nice but too bad the shadows are covering the tank and the right side is a bit too dark for my liking. I would love to have something around here that I can practice with like that tank. have you taken more ther eat different andgles and time of day....?

No, unfortunately I didn't capture it at any other angles or different times. This was one of those quick opportunity shots. I really wanted more angles, but my companions at the time wanted to leave, and who could blame them it was 3am. lol

I'm hoping to have the opportunity to go back sooner or later and get a few more angles though. Did you have a particular angle in mind?

Well nothing in particular. I really like shots of this nature lower rather than higher up. Like shooting a train or a building. anything with some size to it. I like trying to emphasize the size.....A little more of a 45 degree angle to it from down under the belly from about 15 feet away maybe? Not sure just think its got some great shots there. I guess its a subject youd need to play around with and walk around seeing the different possibilities.

I went back tonight and took your advice about walking around. I quickly discovered a problem with any angle changes; background lights, and trees. To the tanks right, behind and in front of there are a lot of lights and neon signs. Which really messes up the shot. The tanks left side is the only side that's unaffected (that's facing towards the park.)

I've thought about photoshopping as many of the lights and signs out as I can, but ... well I'm lazy. lol

Maybe another time of day might prove to be a more worthwhile venture? I've not given up yet!

Thanks for your help pinball.
