Default Bottle

Hi all,

I have started an Open University digital photography course this week and there are various assignments and activities that I have to do. I am certain that you all will be able to advise and help me on the course. The first activity was to take 3 photos of a bottle. Here is one of mine.

Bottle

Thanks for your advice.

Cheers

Tim

madhatas,

This would be more abstract as a horizontally-cropped view, featuring bottle, and with a more yellow/orange background. Very nice subtle lighting.

Nice approach. I agree with Jiminy regarding the cropping. Try shooting a clear glass bottle (it is OK for it to have some cut-glass designs in the bottle) or one that has just a hint of tinting to it. Illuminate and expose for the background and see what effect it has on the glass itself. The one in your first example may be a bit too dark for this technique to work.
