Default Barn at Sunset

Shot this while on the way to Chicago with my Panasonic DMC-FX01. In other versions, I enhanced the color of the sunset, but this is the original (no post-production work). What do you think? Also, I was thinking of cropping a bit off the bottom, but I'm not sure.

I might crop a tiny bit off the bottom, but no more than half of the big-black-space.

Honestly, I like it like it is; I don't think you want the barn TOO close to the bottom border anyway. It's nicely spaced to fall into a 'power point' as it is now. (If you draw the lines for the 'rule of thirds,' the four points where lines intersect are the 'power points.' Having something in one of those positions often tends to make a shot more compelling, for whatever reason.)

I really like the shot the way it is... even though your close to rule of thirds point if you want to crop out some of the bottom i think that would look great also. maybe crop it about a barn's height from the horizon. besides that i really like it good job

I really like how it works but there might just be a tad too much blank space. One thing to try would be cropping out the extra shadow to the right and take a good amount off the bottom to maintain the aspect ratio. Seemed to come out pretty well.

I like the photo, but i also agree with what the others said... there may be just a bit too much blank space. but i just had a loose idea, instead of cropping it from the bottom... why not sign on the bottom? either print it and sign it, or just use photo shop and drop your signature in... It uses up a bit of the blank space, in a professional way

As always, thanks for the comments and suggestions. Seltzer, I liked your idea so I cropped a bit all around. It is not a drastic change, but I like it. Thanks.

Without losing the Illinois farmland flatness. You did well.
