nice DOF but feel it could have been a bt better at a different angle. I think the flat look of the flower leaves the photo lacking something. Placement in the photo is fine not perfectly centered but not drastically offset either. And welcome to DPS!!

The biggest problem I see is the background. Even though it's heavily blurred, it still distracts the eye. Particularly in the lower half where their is a lot more contrast. It's just to busy. Maybe a different time of day would help with that.

There's also that little white spot above the flower's rightmost pedals. My eye keeps going back to it. I'd try cloning it out.

That white spot is a hot pixel. Not sure if it's a chronic problem or a one-time issue.

Default Too Small For Critique

It seems like a winning shot but for me it's too small to pass judgment (I wouldn't want to be unfair now).

great shot.....

the depth of field is commendable....however, i wonder what a different crop might have produced....say, placing the flower a little lower and to the left....

beautiful as is though.....

I really like it, you get a better effect from the bigger version.

I like the angle and DOF. I agree with the previous post that a different crop might help a bit with the busy background. Nice shot!

Thanks for all the replies so fast. I have some more pictures from that trip I'm slowly sorting through. I'll try and get a couple more up for critiquing. I'm sure I can touch it up a little bit and it'd look loads better. Thats the original (Resized) so it could use some touch ups.
