Default running shoes...

bored after a run this morning i decided to take a few pictures. nothing great, but any C&C would be appreciated. which do you prefer?

sb-25 into umbrella camera right at 1/4 power

same set up as above, just different focus

messing around with wide angle distortion

switched to telephoto. flash above at 1/8, flash behind with blue gel at 1/16

I prefer the first one. The second one's oof front shoe grabs my attention first and competes with the infocus back one. I like #3, the wide angle puts all the attention on the shoe. On #4, the telephoto pulls in too much of the wood floor and the grain in the wood competes with the shoe, although I like how the shoes are placed.

The first one is Awesome! I think its a fantastic shot!
THe last could be a product shot with an artsy feel. I dont feel the grain is too distracting. although would probbly benefit from a bit softer look.

Take your setup outside to a road/driveway w/ no cars on it, but make sure it's one with a nice grain. Shoot at around 4 o'clock, and you'll have some very nice stock images. Just remember to clone out any logos in photoshop if you want to sell the images.

understandable. this was just messing around inside after a morning run. was not in the mood to lug my camera, flash, umbrella/stand, etc outside on a windy day.
