alien in my garden

i spotted this strange creature today and had to run for the camera. Used macro to take it.

Ooh, fantastic capture. I like it. Your alien looks to be a mantis, maybe a walking stick. I'm still learning my bugs. You might want to look around What's that bug? to identify your critter.

i didnt really notice any with eyes as big as this one has, so ill keep looking and thankyou for the help..much appreciated.

I did a bit of looking about. Mantids do have large eyes like the one in your capture. Here's an example. Yours has a very interesting colour though, couldn't find anything exactly like it.

its a nice shot and its a praying mantis. A bit beight but clear.

I appreciate the effort in finding out what this creature was..i thought it was a mantis but wasnt sure with the eyes. Just thought he was a good find and something unusual to take.
