Default Skull

A coyote skull shot in February, under the Muddy Creek Bridge. This is one of my favourite photos, and I wondered what others think. Comments, suggestions, criticisms more than welcome.

Remains.

Hi Caine,
How far were you from the subject? Was there a possibility to remove the dry stalk that falls diagonally across the jaw? As a subject it looks a bit scary. Is is a cropped photograph?

Hi. Gosh, I don't remember how far I was, not very as I wanted a lot of detail. The photo isn't cropped, I framed in camera. I could have moved the stalk, but I liked it. The skull wasn't disarticulated, the whole skeleton was intact. I took shots of the whole as well. There was a 2nd skeleton, which I also took shots of, including a skull close-up. The other skull has no grass across it, I just don't find it as interesting.

Sorry it's a bit scary. When you live rural, in farm country you get accustomed to seeing such things.

yeah moving the grass out of the way would have been a lot better as it is a big distraction in the photo.

Okay, thanks. I guess the grass only appeals to me. This is the shot of the second skull (no grass, but I don't like it as much):
