A poignant capture. I like the textures, colours and contrasts.

God, I love white rhinos. They have the most expressive faces. If this is a Northern White (I think it's a Southern, but I'm never good at this kind of identification) it's got a serious reason to be sad. I think we're down to 17 in the world population. Take pictures NOW, while you still can.

Fantastic shot. I particularly appreciate how the colours make the rhino appear almost like a rock and also the way its body fades into the darkness of the shelter. Poignant indeed.

The colors and contrast are very nice. Your eyes are drawn to the horn and then slide back along the body and fade into the darkness. The horn is such a prominate part of the picture not only because of the brightness but also the sharp point it forms. Framing it on the thirds really makes your composition pop.

Fantastic shot! I love the texture - you can really get an idea what this animal might feel like to touch.

Default I love the sad eye!

The texture and blend with the background is great, but it is that eye that really
gets me-- really sad, nearly closed, and red-ish (from a recent bout of tears?). Great shot!
