Taken during a recent trip to France. Any comments ?

I like the idea, but the red sign is a little distracting. Not exactly like you can just run back to France lol, but maybe a differnt perspective could have helped here.

Just let me try to appreciate the situation: from a trip to France, this is a scene you wanted to remember.

Chacun son gout. The contrast and saturation could be increased to bring more color separation. The sign, if important to you, could be left as is, but the rest of the background darkened some, again to bring some variety to this. If only the brass fitting had been polished . . .

Actually I was visiting my mother so I have many other memories and pictures from the area. This was just me practicing with my camera. I've taken your suggestion of contrast and saturation on and this is the result.



Unfortunately I'm not competent enough to darken only the background.

Color's improved with this one. I think it is the non-touristy look of the pump that got me. Does your Olympus pass its test?

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that my camera is limited in what it can do. Looks like a DSLR is on its way.
