Default Full moon

It is full moon again ,I would like feed back please ,moon shots over water , what settings do you use ? I feel this shot of just the moon is ok but with the same settings I have no luck with reflections on the water . This shot was croped only .

for settings for the moon check this site out:

as far as detail in the moon and the water, unless you're blending exposures it's damn near impossible to do because the moon is so much brighter. on suggestion would be to use a wide flash to light up the foreground, but that probably wouldn't give you the look you're after. your best option would probably be to use a tripod and take two exposures (one for the moon, one for the ground), then blend them into each other during post processing.

Thank you for the link . I will try the 2 exposuers tomorrow night .maybe this would be where HDR would come in handy . when I get the reflections on the water the moon looks white , no detail ,as you stated . thanks for your responce . I tried every setting I had and could not get it right . The moon was almost orange & I was hoping for a middle ground that would allow me to get a few half decent shots of the moon & reflection . The 2 expousers sounds like it will give me what I want ,thanks .
