How about cropping the sides so that the image is in a portrait rather than square format? If you keep the moon towards the top (perhaps even 1/3 of the way down), it will draw the eye up the picture. Cropping will also make the moon larger in the frame without losing the beautiful cloud halo.

I definitely prefer the narrower format - I wonder if the moon would look better just a touch lower (but still above half-way)?

The halo around the moon is a really nice touch. I too like the narrow format better. I also like the way the clouds round out near the bottom making a cirlce within a circle design. Nice shot
