This is a very interesting subject with the different shapes, but you can work on the exposure and bring more contrast and depth in the several rows of gears.

I think this shot has potential, though to fully reach this potential, you might want to consider re-shooting.

First, the gears are a neat subject. Unfortunately, the shot is very washed out and looks overexposed (noting the sidewalk in the bottom right of the shot and the building on the right). Now, this could be worked on in photoshop or another image editing program. Try adjusting the contrast, levels, and saturation by a touch and you'll get an image with more punch.

Next, I'd probably crop the image so the focus is on the gears only instead of having the sidewalk and the building in the shot as well. This is something that could also be fixed through re-shooting.

Finally, I'd probably play with the aperture a bit to try to get one point in focus rather than the entire thing. It would help isolate some of the more interesting details.

Hi Andy. Being a clockmaker the title and image caught my eye. I agree with what the others have said. You have the potential for multiple abstract compositions within this one setting. Thanks for sharing this with us.
