Default Last Rays

I was walking down the river front in my city, where country boats waited for passengers to take joy rides. The sunset lit up the clody sky and as it went down even the boatmen looked at the spectacle. I was standing near the water and loved the sillhouette.

Not bad! I like the colours and the silhouettes.

Nice shot, IMO too much dark space at right side.

I disagree. I think the dark space is important to the photo. It gives the photo a little "balance", and helps pull the eye towards the sunset.

I don't like the dark either, find it too distracting - but hey art is in the eye of the beholder so all opinions are just that. You might try to see if you like it by cropping the entire right side away to make it a portrait shot. I did that and really like it a lot better that way (cropped just to the right of the person on the right).

subrataofkris,
I love the capture here. I agree with kirbinster that the dark side of the photo works. I would also be interested in seeing the lighter side cropped as a vertical shot. Just a thought. Anywhoo, great photo and colors.

I don't like the dark on the side, for this particular shot. What I WOULD have liked to see more than anything, though, is more subject in the frame. Your positioning on the light is perfect, and I love the scenery, but I can't help but think that you could've gotten all that in while bringing the silhouetted folks closer to us.

Thanks guys for taking a look, I took at least 10 shots from different angles, and thought this might be the one that I liked most, it was a bigger shot, I cropped to my liking, keeping the focus on the left 1/3rd. I tend to agree with Delta, if I have to concentrate on the sillouette only, I would have to leave a the rest. Well this is a different framing
