I wanted to make the branches to work as a frame for the side door of a local church, but i guess i didn't compose it carefully. It looked right at the time of shooting when viewed in LCD screen. The exposure is good though. No?

It's nice and sharp, and the colors are bright, but I see what you mean. The focus of the shot is split among the purple tree on the left, the black door, the steps, and the window and third-of-a-green tree on the right.
I think you may have been concentrating on the door in your viewfinder/LCD, and not noticing all the stuff around the edges of the frame. Taking, say, a step to the left, and four or five steps forward might have helped--you could have "cropped" the tree, the window on the right, and the steps; and looked through a larger "hole" through the purple leaves to get more of the doorway framed by the purple leaves (which would, hopefully, have them been covering more of the steps). A step to the right, and you might have been able to get the purple leaves framing the left side, and the green leaves framing the right. Maybe. It's always hard to tell if you weren't there. ![]() Next time, try prowling around and taking several shots, and paying attention to what's lining the edges of your photograph. If you don't need it, zoom in or walk closer to eliminate it, simplify the frame, and direct attention to the focus of your shot. |

The branches intrude a bit and that takes away from them acting as a frame. But you're right, it's nicely exposed. Nice colors, too.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I used FastStone image viewer to adjust the saturation and RGB level a bit.
The image did not look too saturated when i adjusted the RGB level and saturation, but your comments helped me to re-calibrate my monitor. After re-calibrating the monitor last night i saw the difference. ![]() I will pay more close attention to the elements and how to Compose better. Thanks once again.
