Default Side On



This was taken today in my backyard with a point and shoot Canon IXUS 500 in vivid mode.
Photoshop modification include adding the border and slight increase in contrast.
Comments and critiques welcomed.

You have a lot going on in the frame but I like the technique you have used. It reminds me somewhat of the High Dynamic Range results (or is it called Tone Mapping?) Thanks for sharing the image with us.

I agree....the bud steals your attention but then dead flowers are distracting.

This photo could have been taken in a number of ways...

1. Keep the bud with the dead flowers only...theme "the cycle of life"
2. Keep the bud standing as tall as the flower besides...theme "new kid on the block"

As these flowers could be easily bet without breaking...I think it would be a nice re-try as it is in your backyard. It would be nice if you could get the clothes that are drying behind off the frame..
