Default Hi!

A few things about this picture :

I found the horizon in the background to be a little distracting. It seems to cut the flower into two sections and I can't really appreciate the flower in its entirety without my eyes wandering away. I think that if you dropped your shooting position and angled upwards more that would have changed. If you still wanted the beautiful morning colour gradient in your photo, you could show a little more stem and have the flower isolated against the sky, with the horizon cleanly underneath the flower.

That said, I do like the contrast between the orange seeds, the white of the fluff, and the peach of the sky.

If you could find one more flower in the background, you could draw the viewer's eye a little more into the bokeh.

That's my two-cents worth. I hope I didn't come across as too harsh, I applaud you for getting up early to shoot!

Well said lam...I agree with you on all points except I don't understand the need of another flower in the background...

thanks for the suggestions...they were very helpful and make sense..
i was already soaking wet up to my knees crawling through the weeds to get this, and that was about as low as I could get...and I couldnt shoot the other way, because the sky was blown out...
i will give it another shot some morning...
thanks again...

I also agree with the comments....have you thought of cutting the milkweed out, and superimposing it on a pic of sky and clouds? The milkweed itself is a beautiful image.
