Cool Grumpy Face

Was at a university cafeteria when I spotted this little guy in a stroller and asked his parents if I could take his picture.

I am fairly happy with the results. Would love any comments!

This is really only my second stab at child photography so please be gentle.

Poor little guy. He's obviously had a pretty bad day, I'd be grumpy too!

Regarding the photo, I don't like the strong vertical lines in the background. Especially the one coming out of his head. I don't like the green-ish hue on his face and hair either. It just doesn't look right. I'm going to guess that there was fluorescent lights in the room?

It's still a cute photo, one that I'm sure his parents would love.

Thanks for the feedback. It was natural light but there were probably some fluorescent fixtures too. Didn't help that the background wall was kinda greenish. Anyway, I have re-edited and uploaded. Let me know what you think of this version!

I think your photo is cute. It works well in B/W because desaturating takes out all of the green colorcast..JMHO

falafelicious,

Edit looks fine for me. Looking at his face he seems mischievous and searching for something!

Its worth to zoom in more or to recompose and include some more details at right (cutting off his left ear distracts). The placement of his eyes works well in upper 3rd horizon.

Here is the crop, hope you dont feel bad editing your work.
