Default Surf, Sand, and Grass

Paradise

Personnaly I don't feel like I have taken very many good landscape shots that are focused on the landscape with that said, I am really happy with this shot and want to know what others think? I got a neat opportunity to take a beach trip after my professor last minute cancelled my only class of the day. So i took this opportunity to take a bunch of pictures at the coast which is about an hour and a half away! I got to take a bunch of shot but this is my favorite landscape shot. If you want to check out the other shots I took over at the coast go see my flickr, it was a lot of fun and a good learning experience.

Settings:

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)

Flash: Flash did not fire

Hi Nieton21:
I think playing with it in Photoshop can make it a little bit more interesting because the background or sky is a little bit dull in my opinion. Can't tell you more because i'm not an expert.
BTW i'm glad you had the day free, hehehe.

I thought of that but it was kind of a mist coming in and I wanted to keep that sensation intact within the scene, but it does make sense

Hi. Glad you had an opportunity to visit the shore and take some shots. I think you did a nice job and based on your second comment, achieved the 'look' you were seeking. My only observation is that the small green clump of vegetation in the bottom center of the image breaks up the 'eye flow' through the frame. If the image were cropped differently such that it wasn't so centered, it could be left in.

Hey there... I think it's a nice idea about capturing the mist coming in.
When taking pictures of skiing, in cloudy weather, trying to experiment in black and white, can get some good pictures. I don't know if that "technique" can be used in all environments.

I think this picture could have improved if there is someone sitting on the sand (preferably somewhere in thirds). I just dont know what or where I'm looking at. If there is someone sitting on the sand, it could have told a story (Something like "man, im crazy lost".

Hehehe..just my two cents
