Default Floral

I took this photo not too long ago and like it a lot. I love the "hairy" aspect of it. I used a flash because natural lighting was very poor.
(I will try again, but not until I buy a Canon XT to use my 24mm macro lens)

EXIF Info:
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S7000
Exposure: 1/10000 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0/100 EV

Default Nice detail!

Hi avytech:
I like the colors and detail of your photo. As you said, that "hairy" aspect is well seen. IMHO I'm wondering if you wanted to get the abstract kind of photo with this macro, because it does not let me figure how the flower looks like.
Also you can try to desaturate background color to make it less distracting, but that's just my opinion.

You're absolutely correct. I wanted a more interesting take on a flower. At first I took the typical center pollen shot, but I wanted to try something special. This (and my cactus macro) is my favorite floral shot.

Here's the boring one I mentioned:

Oh and thank you!
Also, which part is distracting? I'm open to testing.
(I see the background as the blurry parts of the flower and the green/dark space)

I thought that maybe desaturating the background (green one) could make some change as that green for me is like asking attention, but that’s just my thought. As you said, you completely achieved an abstract photo!
