Default back stairs

Anybody please critique.
I know the image quality not so good, it is taken by cheap Point & Shoot camera, but what about the composition, color, did I miss something?

Doesn't matter if it's a cheap point & shoot camera or an expensive professional camera, it's all about the skill and sight of the photographer.

I agree that it's pretty underexposed. I think that the idea of the composition is good. I like the use of the doorway as a frame for the shot. What you could try in the future is using the flash so that you still get sky with the nice blue, but you can also see some of the indoors. It could also make a nice silhouette if you got just a little bit less dark area in the picture so you keep the shape of the door and the railing. I didn't actually realize it was stairs though because you can't actually see the stairs. It could just as easily be a balcony or deck

Thanks for the opinions.
I just start to like photography, and I'm learning a lot from this blog and forum.

A shot like this is tough because if you try to expose so the foreground is OK, you'll blow out the sky. Like Nicole said, flash could help, but I think the dark sides/top/bottom would work fine as a frame, but whatever the dark box is on the bottom kind of bothers me.
