Thanks for the comment.
Yeah that look is quite fascinating, but can be rather scary at times

Makes me wonder if she's listening to a story or just thinking about something without reacting to it yet. Say how do you like the Tamron lens? The Tamron 18 - 250mm tele just won the best lens award. I think I might try one.

Really nice portrait. Good composition and pretty good lighting. I think it would be even better if her eyes were really well focused. It seems to me as though her forehead is in better focus than her eyes. I wonder, too, if you could do something about the washed out bit by her chin.
Very nice portrait though!

I love the composition! We should all be taking portraits of our folks.
The strip of light on the left side of her face sort of makes me look for more contrast in the rest of the picture though. I would try to bump up the contrast and maybe sharpen it up a bit.

I played with mid tones and contrast and came up with this...

@HSM
I like the lens alot. I don't really have anything to compare it up against, but it works ok for me. @Robin Nice redo. I like the contrasts in your edition, but the diffused look in the picture was actually intentional, don't know if it worked.
